Which format should I use?
CODE128 handles any text and is the most common general-purpose choice. EAN-13 and UPC-A are for retail products with a fixed-length numeric code. Use CODE39 for simple alphanumeric labels.
Why does it say my value is invalid?
Formats like EAN-13 and UPC-A require an exact digit count and a valid check digit. Switch to CODE128 or CODE39 if you just need to encode arbitrary text.
